Tom Taylor

Director of Marketing

Tom joined the Acupuncture and Wellness Center in January 2016 as Director of Marketing. Tom’s background in marketing started in California upon starting his first company D & T Maintenance in 1971, while also working in the circulation department at The Register Newspaper. During his time there, Tom quickly moved up the latter to become circulation supervisor; he made such an impression that he was chosen to speak to the Western Newspaper Summit at Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo, California. He was the youngest speaker ever awarded the honor to speak at the Summit.

Shortly thereafter Tom joined forces with a group of co-workers to start S&S Transportation in Anaheim, California – a freight hauling business for Kraft Foods, Budweiser, Coca-Cola, and many other firms. Together with his wife and three children, Tom moved to Missoula, where he taught his sons to fish and hunt in the Montana mountains. It was here that Tom opened another trucking company called Taylor Heavy Haul, hauling auction equipment and oil field equipment all over the United States and Canada.

Relocating to Poulsbo, Washington, Tom launched a trucking and dismantling company, becoming the prime carrier for Boeing Military Hauling. Part of that work involved dismantling all retired steel plants in the Seattle area and exporting them to China, Russia, and  Columbia.

In the late 1990s, Tom went to work for Costco Wholesale building its Business Delivery Division in Lynwood, Washington. In 2004 he transferred into its Business Development and Marketing department in Silverdale.

Tom quickly became involved with community activities including every major event and festival in the region, and soon found himself serving on as many as 8 different boards of directors for different foundations and companies. That was in addition to working with the local military of the Pacific Northwest.

Tom was awarded person of the year in the Poulsbo community in 2009 and served as president for the Greater Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce in 2010. He is currently involved  with the Silverdale Chamber of Commerce Board, North Kitsap Fishline Food Bank,  Peninsula Services as Board Chair, Military Affairs Committee, and serves as liaison for the Navy Region NW Quality of Life meeting each month.

Tom arrived at the Acupuncture and Wellness in search of alternative methods to healing, and knew immediately that he had found the right path in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.  After being treated by Bob Doane, he feels healthier than he has in the past 15 years. It’s now his mission to share his experiences and to inform the public of alternative ways that we can be healed. Tom believes that it’s important to explore methods of curing common human ailments with scientific means that go back over 2000 years.
